$1,500 - GIVE KIDS THE WORLD
is a non-profit organization which exists only to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attractions and to enjoy the magic of the Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need.
$1,500 - CRUISING FOR LITERACY -
The Literacy for Life program is funded by the San Antonio Tourism Councils Annual Cruising for Literacy event held each October. Begun in 1997, the event raises much-needed funding through both a silent and live auction and from the revenue of barges or individual seats purchased for the event. The SAATC mission statement: "To promote and support the development of the visitor industry while preserving and enhancing the special character of the city and surrounding area."

St. Paul is a multi-cultural family in Christ called to encourage one another and embrace the world with Jesus' love. The Child Development Center is located at: 2302 South Presa, (210) 534 -8577
ST. PAULS TOY DRIVE
Spear-headed by Marilyn Ortiz DeSimone (2001 AAHA Chairperson), collected many toys to bring joy to many children. We greatly appreciate everyones support in making 2002 Christmas an extra special event for many needy children.
$700 - TEXAS TOURISM INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION/TOURISM UNITY DINNER
Each year, the Unity Dinner provides the tourism community the opportunity to show strength in numbers. Celebrating the importance of tourism as a major growth segment of the economy, the Unity Dinner furnishes members with the opportunity to interact with elected officials and other major players in the industry. Held in Austin, the event recognizes the importance of the legislative process in achieving our goals. This years event showcased Pat Summeral, Jerry Jones, Emmitt Smith, and entertainment by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
KLRN Phone-A-Thon
was held Wednesday, March 5, from 8 p.m.-10 p.m. at KLRN Studios. During the phone-a-thon, KLRN re-broadcasted the 1990 production of Carreras, Domingo & Pavarotti in concert. Aaron Parks, SACVB, recruited the following volunteers for this event: Natural Bridge Caverns - Kurt Krivka, Chris Vaughn, & Jesse Montgomery; The Quarry Golf Club Lease Jackson; AmeriSuites Riverwalk Teri Cohan; Splashtown Jo Cox; Far West Rodeo Kristin Koether & Kris Koether; Ruth Chris Steakhouse Lisa Lee; Hampton Inn Dee Rullo; River City Limo Stan Sigler; & AAHA Board Member Orie Salinas. Many thanks to our volunteers, as we collected over $5,000 in contributions. Way to go volunteers!
